Member Spotlight:I could not be happier than to be working with Julie. From day one, she has been pro-active in learning all she can from AmeriCorps’ training, site training, co-workers, and on her own. Every day she cheerfully shows up on time ready to take advantage of every moment, even staying late or arriving early if needed. Her knowledge base has grown quickly as has her confidence in working with the public. She goes above and beyond to meet the needs of children and families, does research for them, adapts her schedule, and is persistent in her pursuit of success in every case. She is approachable, establishes report and trust quickly; it is evident that the community has embraced her as much as we have. She brings them happiness, support, hope, and success in their goals. All the while, she is a full-time college student and is receiving high A grades on everything she does. She is an outstanding AmeriCorps Member that embodies all the personal characteristics desired in a Member. I have no doubt that she will continue to serve the community and be successful in all her endeavors.
